A Vacation Diary

When I first saw the church from the distance it dominated the landscape. Up close the stonework is showing the ravages of the centuries even though the facade underwent a cleaning a while back. To me it appeared that the stones are suffering from a pox. When I entered the church the choir was rehearsing. The music and the atmosphere were overpowering. I immediately fell to my knees and the gave the sign of Z (Zorro). I took photos of the stained glass windows that gave the best light. I wandered around old Chartres for the afternoon taking pictures and had a late lunch before heading back to Paris.
